These are the non-commercial workshops currently running in Bristol:
Mondays 8pm - 10pm
Altern8 Juggling Club
Horfield United Reform Church Hall, corner of Muller Road and Downend Road
Map
A very social club, with tea and biscuits included. Everyone is invited to the nearby pub afterwards. Mainly juggling, with many keen club passers, although there is a growing contingent who go there just to drink tea. £2 per session or £1 unwaged.
Tuesdays 7pm - 9pm
Dab Hands Juggling Club
Church Hall, Church Road, Wellington Avenue
Map
Sam says: "They open up a tuck shop about half way through the evening for tea, coffee, soft drinks
and assortment of biscuits but these are not included in the price. Less
technical than Altern8 but more sociable. Ceiling height big enough to hit if you try."
Richard says: Personally I think the Altern8 (Monday) workshop is very sociable, so Dab Hands must be exceptional!
Tuesdays 8pm
Spin Jam
The Island on Silver Street in Bristol city centre (next door to Lazer Quest)
Facebook
Weekly meet for spinning, juggling and general circusy fun run by Chimaera.
The gate is usually locked so you either have to get someone walking past to let you in or call someone inside to let you in. Either Sandy or Tim are pretty much always there, their numbers are: Sandy (07876 041154), Tim (07837 680279).
People are generally happy to show you moves if you ask nicely, just come in and say hi :-)
Poi, staff, hoop, juggling, acro, devil stick, and whatever else turns up for the princely sum of £2.
Wednesdays 9.30pm - 10.30pm

The university circus society. Superb, large, hall for juggling, unicycling, snakeboarding, or whatever. Nice crowd of people, and a social session in the university bar afterwards. Non-students welcome. £3 to join Circusoc for the year.
NOTE: the website is very out-of-date, and none of the people listed there are still at the university. The club is still running however.

This club is still running (Jan 2008) but I'm not sure if the details are still
correct. Best to check with Merlyn (07877 391256) first.
Details as of Oct 2005 were:
Merlyn says: "My friend Kia and I started the club about four months ago and it has
taken off well and we have attendance of around 20 people each week steadily. Some of us also
meet up on a Sunday night to play with fire (Poi, Staff, Double staff, my fire whip).
We meet on a Wednesday night from 7.30 to 9.30pm we ask for £2 and provide tea and coffee.
Very friendly atmosphere and easy going.
Directions: From the North end of the pedestrian high street by the Italian gardens, turn
right (inland) along the the road, approx 100m, and it's on the corner of the next road on
